Smoke The Banger

Here at RobotSound HQ, I'm constantly looking for new electro data due to the insatiable input demands of my sound circuitry. For the past few weeks, I have been getting my digital fix courtesy of Ed Banger records. My auditory sensors located this label after listening to the ultra-hawt dirty-as-f**k-glitched-up debut single "Pop The Glock/Ready to Uff" from Paris-via-Miami teen queen, Uffie (of course). If the play counter on her Myspace page is any indication (381,607 plays as of this moment), she is blowing up HUGE. I guess it shouldn't be surprising that there's some considerable talent behind this release; it's produced by Feadz, Mr.

Time to Spit New Sh*t

In RobotSound's ongoing effort to keep you informed of what's going on in the electro universe, here are some recent and upcoming summer LP releases to be on the lookout for:

Anthony Rother - Super Space Model - Datapunk

"The stylistic blend of Electro with all other genres of the Electronic scene simply makes this music more interesting at the moment than ever before ‹ also in light of and despite the economically difficult general conditions in the music business. An end may be imminent here for some, but I definitely perceive the dawn of a new era ‹ no detachment of older structures, but rather the consistent construction of the next level."
Anthony Rother, 2006 [from Psi49net.de]

Cursor Miner – Danceflaw – Lo Recordings

Cursor Miner presents warped grooves beyond the call of duty as he delivers his most focused album yet. Those of you who bought the single will realise that the Miner really has stepped up his game coming at you like a steroid enhanced prodigy with a taste for electro's stiff funk and dirty gutter bass. He even manages to make the much maligned and pneumatic breaks genre seem like a good idea here by just adding a ton of filth and attitude.

In Thee Dark We Live

Sorry for the lagtime between posts as The Antichrist wouldn't let me post this last week in deference to 6/6/6. I'm a bit disappointed nothing happened - that's kind of sick, huh? Like I wanted some major catastrophe to befall mankind. Anyhow, we're all still here (thank God) and I changed the color scheme to something not satanic.

One of my favorite labels of the moment is Citizen Records, run by the electro-god known as Vitalic (aka Pascal Arbez). Besides releasing stellar tracks of his own, he has been finding some other noteworthy artists that fit neatly into his overall aesthetic. So far, I have not gone wrong picking up anything on Citizen (and that's mighty impressive considering even distinguished labels like Gigolo or Bpitch release a mediocre record now and then).

I am the Electric Messiah. The AC/DC God!

Seeing that today could be The Apocalypse, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to post some favorite "EVIL" tunes for you all, my satanic robot minions.
